Yann Sérandour – portfolio contains a series of  31 posters reproducing in actual size (1.1)the display of the exhibition Bibliothèque d’un amateur- Richard Prince’s publications 1981-2012, which took place at the Christophe Daviet-Thery, Paris from October 26 to December 20, 2012.- inkjet printing on 120gsm blueback paper 70 x 100 cm published by Christophe Daviet-Thery.

Ulises Carrion SONNET (S) 1972

Michalis Pichler OTHER SONNET (S) 2009-(ongoing)

This vis-à-vis would be the occasion to bring face the artist’s publication “SONNET(S)” by Ulises Carrion, 1072 and “OTHER SONNET” by Michalis Pichler, here in particular “THIRTYSIX LITHOGRAPHED SONNETS”,2009.

In 1972, Ulises Carrion produced his first artist’s book “SONNET (S)” which consists of a 44 variations of a sonnet by Dante Gabriel Rosetti titled ” Hearts Compass”. Using the langage like a material, Carrion writes Rossetti’s poem over and over again on a typewritter, in slighthly different versions.

Michalis Pichler, a Berlin-based experimental writter, artist and publisher, in a similar approach, created 44 new variations produced and published a book titled “SOME MORE SONNET(S)” – and on the last page of this book announced a multitude of OTHER SONNET’S), mostly imaginary. In an ongoing process, Pichler produced some of them, like “THIRTYSIX LITHOGRAPHED SONNET(S)” which the title give the form in an interaction between what we are reading and what we are seeing, changing words in a visual way, even “sculptural” like a materialization of the language”.

En 1944, Bruno Munari (1907-1998) réalise une série d’images intitulées “Ricerca della comodità in una poltrona scomoda” (À la recherche du confort dans un fauteuil inconfortable), laquelle sera publiée la première fois et la même année dans la revue Domus (Domus 202/ Octobre 1944) afin d’illustrer un article qu’il consacre, avec humour, à la prolifération des formes d’assises et à leur inconfort.

This is the first exhibit of Nordström’s work in France, and can be seen from February 16 – May 16, 2013.

« Sculptures dysfonctionnelles »

Les sculptures de Koenraad Dedobbeleer (artiste belge né en 1975) fonctionnent comme des simulacres d’objets fonctionnels et courants, qui, déplacés dans un contexte d’exposition et ainsi libérés de leur fonction d’usage, s’offrent comme des supports ambigus et disponibles à l’interprétation.
